Wedding at Schloss Kapfenstein!
Schloss Kapfenstein is located in the middle of the Styrian thermal region, in the southeast of Styria, not far from the Hungarian and Slovenian borders. A place with history. Perched on an extinct volcanic cone, the castle, which was first documented in 1065. Schloss Kapfenstein has been owned by the Winkler-Hermaden family since 1898. The word Kapfenstein comes from Middle High German “gawking from the stone”, peering into the distance … If you arrive on Kapfenstein, this is also the incomparable welcome. The view sweeps from Hungary in the east, over Slovenia in the south, to the western Styrian hill country and to the Carinthian Karawanken in the west.
For the civil wedding, we can offer you the “blue salon” on the 1st floor or in good weather our “castle garden”. We charge a room rent of € 150, -. The civil wedding is conducted by the civil registry office Kapfenstein (Tel. 03157/2235).
Somewhat removed from the castle, at the northern end of the Kapfensteiner Kogel, in the midst of the vineyards, lies the “Herz Jesu-Kapelle” belonging to the castle. You can reach this popular wedding chapel on a slightly ascending path leading through forests, meadows and vineyards. The rent for the chapel is 300,00 Euro.
Of course you can also marry in the parish church, which is located under the castle. All bride and groom who want to be married in church in the castle chapel, are asked to contact the parish office Kapfenstein regarding the wedding.

Agape after the wedding
Traditionally we serve – on request – after the wedding a small drink in the castle courtyard.
We can offer you different guest rooms and we would be pleased if you come by for a sightseeing. Our maximum capacity for a board in the castle is limited to 60 people.
From 1.30 am we charge € 40, – per started hour. Depending on the room, a certain number of rooms have to be booked.
