Kapfenstein Castle is located in the middle of the Styrian thermal region, in the southeast of Styria, not far from the Hungarian and Slovenian borders. A place with history. Perched on an extinct volcanic cone, the castle was first mentioned in documents as early as 1065. Since 1898, Kapfenstein Castle has been owned by the Winkler-Hermaden family. The word Kapfenstein comes from the Middle High German "Vom Stein gaffen", peering into the distance... When you arrive at Kapfenstein, this is also the incomparable welcome. The view sweeps from Hungary in the east, across Slovenia in the south, to the western Styrian hill country and the Carinthian Karawanken in the west.

For the civil wedding we can offer you the "blue salon" on the 1st floor or in fine weather our "castle garden".We charge a <strong>room rental of € 150.00.</strong> The civil wedding ceremony is performed by the registry office Kapfenstein

Somewhat away from the castle, at the northern end of the Kapfensteiner Kogel, in the midst of the vineyards, lies the "Herz-Jesu-Kapelle" (Sacred Heart Chapel), which belongs to the castle. You can reach this popular wedding chapel on a slightly ascending path leading through woods, meadows and vineyards. The rent for the chapel is <strong>300,00 Euro.</strong>

Of course you can also get married in the parish church, which is located under the castle. All couples who would like to get married in the castle chapel are asked to contact the Kapfenstein parish office regarding the wedding.

Traditionally, we serve - upon request - a small drink in the castle courtyard after the wedding.

We can offer you different guest rooms and would be happy if you come by for a tour. Our maximum capacity for a table in the castle is <strong>limited with 60 people</strong>.

From 1.30 we charge <strong>€ 40.00 per hour or part thereof</strong>. Depending on the room, a certain number of the rooms are to be booked.
